Community Healthcare at NYCTCM's Teaching Clinic
New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NYCTCM)'s Teaching Clinic offers Acupuncture and Chinese Healing Arts to the community while providing our advanced students with a clinical internship.
Our interns are senior-level students at the acupuncture school in New York who have passed a series of qualifying exams that allow them to diagnose and prescribe therapies for the patients who come to our clinic. Licensed Acupuncturists and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners supervise our interns. Many of our supervisors have M.D. degrees from China, and all have considerable clinical and teaching experience.

Chinese Herbology Certificate Program
The New York State Board of Regents has authorized New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine to offer a Chinese Herbology Certificate Program, which will supplement its Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree programs. The Certificate Program is designed for licensed acupuncturists and graduates of acupuncture degree programs who wish to add herbal expertise as a component of their professional practices without having to complete an entire Oriental Medicine degree program.

The passing rate for NYCTCM examinees on the NCCAOM Certification tests exceeded the national passing rate. (May - August 2007)
The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) is a non-profit organization established in 1982. Its mission is to establish, assess, and promote recognized standards of competence and safety in acupuncture and Oriental medicine for the protection and benefit of the public.
NCCAOM offers four distinct national certification programs in Oriental medicine, acupuncture, Chinese herbology, and Asian bodywork therapy. Certification is granted to those who meet the eligibility criteria and pass the examination(s). Requirements vary for each program. Find guidelines on certification here.

Kiyin Cheng wins the first year (2009) Nong's Scholarship sponsored by Trenex Herbal Solutions, Inc.
This is the first time in school history that one of our students won the Nong' Scholarship provided by Trenex Herbal Solutions, Inc. The qualifications for this scholarship:
1. Must be a full time matriculated student at the NYCTCM.
2. Must be enrolled in the Oriental Medicine Program at least 25 credits for each qualified academic year.
3. Must have earned an average 3.9 GPA for each qualified academic year.
Ki YIn Cheng is enrolled for a total of 50 credits and his GPA was 3.97 during the academic year 2008 - 2009. He has the most credits earned and the highest GPA among three candidates.
Academic Excellence Award
Janic Sau-Yuk Lam, Phillis Sau-Wai Lam and Katherine Ann Scofield received Academic Excellence Award (2008 - 2009) The winners had to carry a minimum of 12 credits each trimester and have achieved a GPA of 4.0 in the academic year of 2008 - 2009.
Tai Chi & other Classes Open to the Public
Some New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NYCTCM) acupuncture school and Oriental Medicine school courses such as Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Chinese Language, and History and Philosophy of Chinese Medicine, along with special seminars and short courses at the school are open to enrollment by the general public with no special prerequisites. All other courses are open to enrollment by non-matriculated students only if they satisfy all program entry requirements as well as all prerequisites for that particular course.
NYCTCM sponsors Continuing Education Program for Practitioners
NYCTCM offers continuing education seminars periodically for licensed practitioners. CEU credits are available.
NYCTCM has an outstanding TCM faculty averaging more than 20 years of experience in the integrative practice of acupuncture and Chinese herbology in China, with many having taught or done research there. In small classes these master practitioners mentor students of the NYCTCM acupuncture school in New York in the philosophy and practice of Oriental Medicine.
