New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine offers the following services to its students:

NYCTCM Acupuncture SchoolNew Student Orientation

During the first week of classes, new students are introduced to New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NYCTCM), its staff and faculty, and its policies and procedures.

Clinic Orientation

Before entering the clinic as an Observer, students are introduced to clinic procedures and expectations, including patient intake, record keeping, different clinic levels and attendant responsibilities, and general rules of cleanliness and deportment. After passing the Clinic Entrance Examination, new interns must attend an Intern Orientation focusing on Clean Needle Technique as well as policies and procedures which apply specifically to interns.

Advising / Counseling

Staff and faculty are available on an appointment basis for academic advising and career counseling. Students are encouraged to make use of available expertise before making difficult academic or career choices.

Financial Aid

New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine has been approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education to participate in the Federal Family Education Loan Program. In connection with this, we provide a full range of financial aid advising and administrative services to students of the school.

Licensing Information

The school provides students with information on professional licensing regulations and procedures of New York State. This is also available directly from The University of the State of New York, The State Education Department, Office of Professional Credentialing, Professional Licensing Services, 89 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY 12234 (telephone 518-473-0221).

Library

NYCTCM Acupuncture SchoolNew York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NYCTCM)’s library space is small, but quiet and bright. Our growing collection includes books, journals and videos covering both Eastern and Western medicine. Students can check books out of the library for up to two weeks for personal reference. Internet access for student use in the library is also available.

Clinic

Students are welcome as patients in New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NYCTCM)’s clinic. All students can receive three treatments per trimester at the clinic free of charge; subsequent treatments are available at $10 per treatment.

Communications

We are a small school, and probably word of mouth is still the prevalent means of official communications. However, bulletin boards and student and faculty mailboxes are also available.

School Store

New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NYCTCM) keeps an inventory of textbooks, patent herbs, and acupuncture supplies, which are available for student purchase.

Copy Machine

A photocopy machine is available for student use at the school.

Cafeteria

Tables for eating, a refrigerator, a microwave oven, and hot and cold bottled water are available for student use at the school.
